The first signs of cancer often present themselves in the form of a cancer rash. Cancer rash can be of many types. However, the most common ones are those related to skin cancer and breast cancer.



Skin Cancer Rash



Most people tend to think that skin cancer presents itself in the form of a skin lesion or a mole. Yes, these are most common forms of benign skin cancers that can be surgically treated. However, the cancer cells often present a more disturbing symptom in the form of a cancerous rash. These cancer cells are commonly referred to as cutaneous cancer cells and the condition is called cutaneous lymphoma. The rash initially appears along the lower appendages. The initial symptoms show-up in the form of a flared-up skin condition around the trunk or the buttocks. Most people tend to think of it as a seasonal rash or some form of eczematous or fungal development. This is a major reason why most cases of cutaneous skin-cancer rash are reported rather late. However, it is soon realized that the conventional medications for such conditions are ineffective.

The rash initially has a form like that of skin leukemia but afterwards it takes a more typical form. In the realm of cutaneous lymphomas, the most common type of cancer rash is the mycosis rash. While many types of skin cancers are precipitated by excessive exposure to sun, this type of cancer has an unknown etiology. However, it has been confirmed that exposure to sun is definitely not a reason. The condition is more common among women and those belonging to the higher age-groups, i.e. in excess of 50 years of age.

For the first few weeks, there are no signs of tumors. However, as the condition progresses, small, endo-dermal tumors can be seen. The skin becomes red, scaly and inflames rather easily. The skin can become highly irritated too. The real trouble begins when the cancerous cells start attacking the lymph nodes. Once the cancer reaches this stage, its progression becomes very quick.

If this type of rash is reported early, stopping it with some topical creams and medications is possible. Otherwise, the course-of-treatment is at par with other cancerous diagnosis, i.e. use of radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Surgical intervention is seldom advised in such cases since the tumors are very small, few in number and are spread all over the cancerous skin. Further, surgical intervention cannot be used to excise any particular cancer-affected part since the skin itself has become cancerous.
